ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Halifax Road – Northbound Overlay project will be received by the Town of South Boston at the office of their Engineer, B&B Consultants, Inc., located at 706 Hamilton Boulevard, South Boston, Virginia 24592, until 2:00 p.m. local time on May 30, 2017, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of constructing:
• Base Bid
o Maintenance of Traffic
o Plane 1,166 SY of pavement
o Tie-In Plane 939 SY of pavement
o Eradicate all existing pavement markings
o F&I 1,470 G of non-tracking tack coat
o F&I 1,360 T of VDOT SM-9.5D surface asphalt
o F&I 363 T of VDOT No. 25 or 26 aggregate material
o F&I Type B, Class I pavement markings
• Alternate No. 1 Bid
o Maintenance of Traffic
o Plane 807 SY of pavement
o Tie-In Plane 669 SY of pavement
o Eradicate all existing pavement markings
o F&I 535 G of non-tracking tack coat
o F&I 495 T of VDOT SM-9.5D surface asphalt
o F&I 122 T of VDOT No. 25 or 26 aggregate material
o F&I Type B, Class I pavement markings
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: B&B Consultants, Inc., 706 Hamilton Boulevard, South Boston, Virginia 24592. The contact person is Ryan Conner, 434-572-3251, rconner@bandbcons.com. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.
Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office during the hours indicated above. Bidding Documents are available as portable document format (PDF) files for a non-refundable charge of $15.00. Alternatively, printed Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office either via in-person pick-up or via mail, upon Issuing Office’s receipt of payment for the Bidding Documents. The non-refundable cost of printed Bidding Documents is $30.00 per set, payable to “B&B Consultants, Inc.”, plus a non-refundable shipping charge. Upon Issuing Office’s receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the prospective Bidder’s delivery method of choice; the shipping charge will depend on the shipping method chosen. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
