Message From the Chief:

     On behalf of the South Boston Fire Department, I would like to welcome you to our website.  We thank you for taking time to visit our site and hope you find it both informative and interesting.

     The SBFD has a long and proud history of serving the residents of South Boston.  We value our history and traditions while constantly seeking innovative and state-of-the-art ways to better serve our community.

   We are extremely proud of what we do, and that is serving you in your time of need.  Our dedicated members pledge to do the very best that we can to safely meet the needs of our citizens.  Our paid staff and volunteer personnel are always prepared and trained to respond to emergencies.

    We invite you to stop by our fire station for a visit.  Come see our trucks up close and visit with our firefighters.  We will be happy to give you a tour, take your blood pressure, or give some fire safety tips.

Mission Statement

The mission and number one priority of the South Boston Fire and EMS Department is to deliver the best possible service to the citizens of our community.

We see the citizens of our community as "customers" and as customers; they have needs that are constantly changing.  It is our responsibility to meet their needs for fire protections and emergency medical services.

To meet the ever-changing requirements of the community, we must strive to give the best service possible by:

Performing Adequate Fire Suppression

Providing Efficient Emergency Medical Care

Providing Fire Prevention through Public Education and Inspections

Training out personnel to handle any situation placed upon them to the best of their ability

Maintaining our apparatus, related equipment and facilities to ensure a timely response

As our town grows, this department pledges to meet the changes that the future will bring to ensure that our citizens will be properly protected.
