1. REGIONAL
COOPERATION- COUNTY AND TOWN SERVICES
A. Continue upgrade
of Police Department computer systems to enhance information sharing
capabilities for law enforcement purposes and accommodate future
technologies in regional and state interoperability projects.
B. Continue School
Resource Officer programs at the Halifax County High and Middle
Schools in partnership with the Halifax County Sheriff Office.
C. Sustain support to
insure the success of the Halifax County/South Boston Regional
Drug-Gang Task Force.
2. PRIORITY CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS¿ FY 2011-2012 (TOWN FUNDED)
A. Establish a
Vehicle/Equipment Depreciation Program.
B. Identify
appropriate land acquisitions to permit cemetery expansions.
C. Make necessary
repairs and upgrades to the Fire Station.
3. PRIORITY CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FY 2011 -2012 (GRANT DEPENDANT)
A. Renovate
the Washington-Coleman School building into a Multi-Use Community and
Recreation Center.
B. Establish a
neighborhood park on the old Halifax Cotton Mill property in
cooperation with the local Master Gardeners.
C. Complete the South Boston component of the Tobacco Heritage
Biking/Hiking Trail
D. Develop a Storm
Water Management Master Plan.
E. Continue upgrades to the Police Department Communication System.
4. EMPHASIZE MISSION
AND VALUES ON A DAILY BASIS
A. Enhance the Quality
of Life for South Boston citizens by providing effective municipal
services.
