WorkForce Center

Welcome to the South Boston - Virginia Workforce Center!

The VWC is a one-stop concept to provide local businesses and all citizens with employment, job training, support services, and more. The purpose of the VWC is to integrate our partners' services and coordinate resources for job seekers, employers/business, skilled workers, training, and, where appropriate, incumbent workers.

(Southern Virgina Workforce Center Web Site Link)

"In 2008, Kaine identified eight sites in the commonwealth to be developed by 2010 as one-stop workforce training centers, and South Boston was one of those sites."

"The center is a new and innovative way of delivering employment and training services."

"The purpose of the center is to promote a well-trained, well-educated, highly skilled and qualified workforce that is actively engaged in lifelong learning and fulfilling the needs of local employers, according to state and local officials."
- Gazette-Virginian news story, Jan. 6, 2010.
